Dell has concocted another attractive machine. It’s called XPS One and most people would think that this is the PC that everyone would expect for the price and for the form factor. However, Computer Shopper thinks the machine needs more than just good looks to actually be more reliable.
Shopper thinks it needs a better GPU, and laments its lack of upgradability. But its main competition is, of course, the iMac, where it no doubt got its market, which is also no-upgradable.
Dell’s XPS One is more like a so-so than a really remarkable piece of computing device.

I saw this pic from SlashFilm and I just can’t help but be amazed at this piece of Lord of the Rings origami. Eric Joisel is such a very talented guy. This has actually been my frustration ever since I was a child. I tried to learn but I failed. Origami is just nor for me.
Click here for more photos of Joisel’s work.

There is a new way to carry your pups everywhere you go. And it is not a pretty sight, especially for your beloved pet.
A pretty wise and ‘cruel’ inventor has taken two things that should never be mixed — dogs and fanny packs — and mutated them into one terrible invention.
This dog fanny pack gives the owner the freedom to carry their dogs around but the poor pup is not comfortable with his condition at all. Making him look like a living fanny pack is not a good deal for the pet at all.
Dogs love to walk so why prevent from doing the very thing they are very much capable of doing?

I got this from National Geographic and I must say it made my day. Never thought animals could have virgin birth as well.
A hammerhead shark born in a Nebraska zoo in 2001 was the result of a so-called virgin birth, new DNA evidence shows.
The finding marks the first confirmed case of a female shark fertilizing her own eggs and giving birth without sperm from a male, a process known as parthenogenesis.
The baby bonnethead shark, a type of hammerhead, was born at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska.
Scientists were able to match the baby’s DNA with one of three potential mothers in the tank.
But none of these females had had any contact with a male for more than three years.
Scientists at first believed the birth had come about as a result of a female shark’s well-documented ability to store sperm for months.
Amazing right? Too bad the baby shark lost his life not long before it could even enjoy the ocean. But this recent discovery really drove the point home that the world is full of wonderful and mysterious things. Truly, life is beautiful and we should try to make it even more so rather than destroy it and make it ugly.

I have been waiting for this to happen and now it is finally here. Yahoo! finally released its browser version of the Yahoo! Messenger through http://webmessenger.yahoo.com. I have been confronted with many questions before from a friend on how to be able to communicate online without using the messenger software. There was Meebo so we were quite thrilled. But there are things in YM that Meebo could not provide. Webcam features and even conferencing seem to be pretty challenging through Meebo.
But right now, this browser version of the Messenger is truly a lifesaver for many of my colleagues. I just can’t wait to tell the news to them.

I have always been amazed at how man continues to create cool things that are actually very helpful as well. And that one amazing device that sanitizes toothbrushes just blows me away. Yeah, I am kinda overreacting but that’s me. I am hyper most of the time especially with stuff I really like to have and use.
I have this OC attitude and I tend to question myself most of the time if the stuff I use are actually clean and germ-free. And though it may sound weird, that same question always pops up when I am brushing my teeth. Yeah, talk about right timing huh?
But now I think I won’t be happing that problem anymore because this VIOlight toothbrush sanitizer will ensure me that the tool I use for brushing my teeth is 99.9% germ-free. Cool right?

I really need this stuff. I always have a problem waking up in the morning. And this cool piece of metal takes care of my morning waking problems.
Logic3 has releases the i-Station IS10, the newest clock with an iPod dock in the market. The clock is designed to wake you with the sound of your favorite songs in your iPod’s playlists, a traditional annoying buzz, or the radio station of your choice.
Coolest-Gadgets has more:
The i-Station IS10 comes in black and white versions to match your iPod, has an AM/FM tuner and a remote control. You can set two alarm times, so it can wake both you and your companion, if you get up at different times. This compact clock has a nice backlit LCD screen that can be dimmed so it will not keep you awake at night. And yes, if you want to sleep a little bit longer, you can hit snooze in the remote control.
The IS10 has a built-in battery, so it will still awake you even if there is a power shortage in your house. You can connect your clock to your PC and Mac to sync the iPod. You can use other MP3 players thanks to the line-in connector.
The Logic3 i-Station IS10 will be shipping in May wit a price tag of £70, and that’s not too much to pay for never going to sleep longer than you should again.
I say this thing really is cool and useful. I would never have to worry about being late for my appointments again.

I admit I am a book lover so when I see this piece of cool stuff, I became a fan instantly. This chair is called Bibliochaise and it’s a very unique and useful one at that. This chair is designed for people who love to read and want to keep their favourite books close at hand.
This Italian designed armchair library was first shown at the Salone del Mobile 2006 in Milan. The Home model measures 40,16 x 33,46 x 28,94 inches, and has 16,40 feet of space to store your books and manuals. The chair can be customized with your favourite colours, and the replaceable cushion covers also have six different colours options, so you can match the style of your house. The Contract chair is a bigger model, and is made out of your choice of wood, with leather cushions.
I can’t wait to see this one in my library. I might as well put one in my living room.

If you think that tires have one single use then you are wrong. Just look at the pic above to get the point. Who would have thought tires can be used as contemporary sinks. Well, Bristol and Bath just did the thinking for us and now it’s available for those who want it hip and cool.
Just sharing some random cool stuff today. Believe it or not , I actually think of buying one for my little room. The thing just looks so damn cute.
