Walt Disney has released a new movie called Enchanted. This is one of those movies with the Space Jam attitude, mixing animation with real actors and stuff. I kinda like this approach and to think that this movie dwells in the story of a fairy tale in a modern world backdrop, this is going to an interesting film to watch with the whole family together.
The film has Amy Adams, James Marsden, and Patrick Dempsey as the main characters. My family is already pushing to bring them to the cinemas whenever the film hits theaters. And since I love them so much so I am gonna give them what they want.
I hope it will be a great experience.

Thanks to Lucy Liu, I was forced to watch Rise. I was not really planning to watch any movie that day but since I saw Lucy on the picture, so I thought this would be one hell of an action-packed movie. I can still remember Lucy kicking ass in Charlie’s Angels and Kill Bill.
Well, much to my disappointment, this is not one of Lucy’s best moments. I even think this is her worst movie ever. The story is not good to begin with and the action scenes, which I thought would be the film’s salvation didn’t do great either. Everything was a bloody mess, no pun intended.
Lucy’s character didn’t develop properly and it lacks the charisma that she used to display on screen with her previous movies. I saw a weak Lucy and that is never a good thing. She is supposed to be stronger than usual since she became a vampire but the opposite happened. It was terrible.
Anyway, for you to know what the movie is all about, here it is:
Rise is a supernatural thriller in which a reporter (Liu) wakes up in a morgue to discover she is no longer among the living. She vows revenge against the cult responsible for putting her there and hunts them down one by one. Chiklis plays “Rawlins,” a haunted police detective whose daughter is killed by the same cult and seeks answers for her gruesome death.
Sadie Blake, a reporter, becomes fully aware of the fact that she somehow died when she wakes up in a morgue. She then attempts to gain revenge upon the vampires that killed her by hunting them one by one. She is helped by Detective Clyde Rawlins, whose daughter was also killed by that same vampire clique.

I don’t know what The Night Watchman is all about but I am glad that Keanu Reeves is part of it. I miss the guy actually. I don’t really consider Keanu as a very good actor but I like the fact that he is back on track and is now starting to make movies again.
I last saw him in Constantine and that was one hell of a movie. I like Keanu because he exudes a different kind of aura among celebrity men. He has this innocent and calm effect that is soothing to the senses regardless of his role. The Matrix trilogy allowed him to give off much of that aura, to the delight of the viewers like me.
I hope Keanu will be doing movies from now on. Quality roles and great script for him to hone his skills more.

American Idol Season 6 champ Jordin Sparks says that it took a long time for her to accept her body shape. Thank goodness she won the American Idol talent search. She wouldn’t have gained more confidence the faster way.
“I think it really helped boost her self-esteem and made her realize she’s beautiful as she is,” her grandmother, Pam Weidmann, tells PEOPLE for its new issue. Jordin’s mom, Jodi, says of her daughter’s May 23 victory: “It was huge to see her confidence level grow. … She’s standing taller now.”
Jordin is the youngest contestant in the competition yet it seems that she is the biggest among the girls standing at 5′10″. Jordin won the nationwide talent search beating beatboxer Blake Lewis. Now, she thinks she a lot happier about herself and has finally possessed the confidence that she once lacked before she went to American Idol.

Nicole Richie is in the news again for the same reason – her health. This girl has been known for being anorexic but of course Nicole doesn’t know about that. Everybody thinks she is too thin except Nicole herself.
Monsters and Critics has this article about Nicki’s recent medical status:
Nicole Richie’s recent collapses on the set of ‘The Simple Life’ are the result of low blood sugar levels.
The 25-year-old star was hospitalised for dehydration earlier this month and allegedly collapsed again on the set of her reality show last week.
Nicole is now said to have been diagnosed with hypoglycaemia.
Well, Nicole has got to wake up and look at herself in the mirror once and for all. She’s not fat as what she honestly believes and she needs to eat a lot to nourish herself. I sometimes can’t imagine that someone as frail as her thinks she is obese or something. I just can’t understand aneroxia and I think I will never understand it ever.
I hope she gets the help she deserves so that she can straighten up her life next.

I like Jennifer Hudson because she is where she is because of hardwork and sheer determination. And though Simon Cowell may not agree with me since he was quite pissed off with Jennifer treating American Idol merely a stepping stone for her career, I still believe that Jennifer deserves the fame and the perks that she is enjoying as of the moment.
Now, a recent story from I-Film caught my attention:
Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Hudson has turned down a $3 million role in a Warner Bros. movie because of a nude scene. Ready for the twist? It wasn’t Jennifer’s character that gets naked.
The Dreamgirls star says that she will never appear in a film that features nudity because she is a role model to aspiring young black women. So I guess we won’t be seeing a Jennifer Huson nude scene anytime soon. As stupid as that may be, you must applaud her for sticking to her convictions especially when a big paycheck it being flaunted under her nose.
Again, Jennifer has made a very good move. She wants to stick to her convictions and that is just remarkable for a young girl with a lot of potential. I hope she goes far in the field she has chosen.

I didn’t really admire Britney Spears the moment I saw her first music video for Baby One More Time. I thought she is just anothen teen pop sensation who creates one-hit wonders. But then I was wrong. She became a superstar after months of continually dominating the airwaves with chart-topping hits.
She got what she dreamed of. She got a name for herself. In just a year or two, she became a household name. But that is also the time she began to show her true colors? She became wild and dirty. The wholesome image was suddenly stripped away from her and the bitchy/slutty image took over. That is also when I began to dislike her very much.
She married a jerk and I thought well she deserved it. She brought it to herself. Our choices make us who we are. But then again, there’s a side of me that is worried about her. I am concerned; even alarmed, especially when I knew that she shaved her head for the purpose of drawing more attention to herself. Is the dreaded crotch-flash still not enough?
The people close to her said she needs help. Professional help. And I must say she needs it quickly. The sooner the better before she hurts anybody else or herself. She needs to do it now. I may not understand her but I know deep inside, Britney is just another girl who wants to be taken seriously and who wants to be loved more than anything else.
